Crafting a Life Rooted in Truth

November 11, 2025

It is so easy to live today only in service of some future version of life—to trade the present for the promise of “someday.” We often tell ourselves, if I hustle now, I can finally live my dream life when I retire or when I reach a certain age.

But I have come to realize that I can live that dream life now. I can intentionally create a life that reflects my values, priorities, and sources of joy—a life that cultivates depth, breath, softness, and presence.  When we live too much in the future, we miss the richness of today.  There are so many blessings—so much quiet joy—to be found in this moment.

There is a way to fully rest in the present while still longing for what’s to come. Contentment and desire can coexist—it’s the art of balance. Although I have made progress in this realm, this is personally still a challenge for me.

Write down what brings you joy and peace.  Think of 1-2 word phrases.  What are your truths?

This will hold the groundwork for what to build your life on.   🤍☁️🌿🍃✨️

Here are a few of joys and truths I want my life to reflect:

  • Slow living

  • Intentionality

  • Rest

  • Hard Work

  • Solitude

  • Shared Silence

  • Nature

  • Connection

  • Face to Face Interactions

  • Intergenerational Relationships

  • Community

  • Vulnerability

  • Simplicity

  • Single tasking

  • Minimalism

  • Less Screens

  • Boundaries

  • Power of “no”

  • Curiosity

  • Stepping out in faith

Writing this list helped me see what truly matters to me and gave me clarity about the values I want to build my life around.
