Leaning into Your Feminine Energy as an Entrepreneur
October 2, 2025
Starting a business from the ground up is a lot of work. It is full of uncertainty and unknowns—and if you’ve never done it before, you can’t expect to be “good at it” right away.
By the time I filed paperwork with the IRS for my business name (in December 2022), I had already been dreaming about entrepreneurship for 6–9 months. I was burned out from my job: seeing eight clients a day, pouring out emotional and physical energy, and constantly running on empty. I had the Sunday scaries every week. I consistently looked forward to Friday’s. I did not have community at work, because all our lunch breaks were staggered among my coworkers for COVID reasons. In general, I wasn’t really happy. Work was work. Work helped me pay for my bills and graduate school debt.
Especially in the Bay Area, there is a heavy emphasis on work. It can be easy to loose sense of direction. I felt stuck in this cycle of working all the time. Work Monday to Friday, and then live for the weekend, and then repeat it all over again, 52 weeks of the year. It is so draining and exhausting.
I realized that for probably much of my life, especially the first 2 years I had a real adult job (2021 and 2022), I was living in “man mode.” Hustling. Grinding. Trying to “do it all.” Provide for myself. I never took my foot off the gas pedal. I was chasing milestones, titles, and certifications—grinding nonstop. Looking back, I can barely recall anything memorable from that time because work consumed me.
The Trap of 9-5
Entrepreneurship can easily feed the same cycle. When you are your own boss, there is no clear end to the workday. The pressure to “do more” intensifies when you see peers expanding, hiring, or chasing new goals. It feels like the goalposts keep moving further away.
Since I don’t have built-in paid time off (PTO) like at a traditional company, I have to make a conscious choice when taking unpaid time away. This used to be very difficult for me, but the past year, my perspective of rest has significantly changed. Rest is equally important as work, and rest is productive.
I realized... living in constant “man mode”—hustling, grinding, pushing harder—was not sustainable.
Embracing Limits & Creating Structure
Embracing limitations helps you create structure around your work so that it is life giving. It also helps protect you from hustling and grinding. Understanding my limits has helped me build a work schedule that allows me to completely invest in my clients without compromising the quality of care and service.
Here are a few ways I embrace my limitations:
-
I intentionally set my schedule so that I only see 4 clients/day (this happens 95% of the time, as there are very few days of the year when I see more).
-
I kindly decline new clients who aren’t the right fit, keeping the focus on what best serves the client.
-
Most of my client sessions are booked from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., aligning with the hours I feel most energized.
-
If my client’s progress stalls and I am unsure how to proceed, I am transparent with my clients and let them know honestly. I have learned that I cannot fix everyone.
-
As a mobile physical therapist, I do not have a designated office. After a full day with clients, I finish my administrative tasks—completing medical records/documentation, responding to client messages, preparing receipts and payments, and sending out exercise prescriptions or handouts—at the library or cafe before heading home.
💬 How can I turn my limitations into opportunities for creating structure and focus at work?
Returning to Feminine Energy
As women, we don’t need to constantly push, force, or “do it all.” That mindset only leads to exhaustion. Instead, slow living allows us to reconnect with our natural rhythms.
The feminine way is about nurturing, savoring, tending, and being present with the process. It is connecting to your inner self and with others, knowing your worth, and going with the flow (rather than force). Our bodies themselves are cyclical, with different “seasons” each month through the menstrual cycle. Some days bring creativity and momentum; others call for rest and self-care. When we honor these cycles instead of fighting them, life begins to feel fertile again—whole, grounded, and abundant. So, start listening to your body.
Tapping into your feminine energy means taking your foot off the gas pedal. It means letting go and surrendering to flow. It is remembering that you were never meant to carry it all alone. From this place of softness and surrender, you begin to witness and feel the profound, life-giving transformation unfolding in yourself and in those you serve.
Your feminine energy is already in you —you simply need to bring it to the surface.
Ways I tap into my feminine energy:
-
I intentionally see 25% fewer clients during my menstrual period to honor my body’s natural rhythms.
-
I prioritize at least a one-hour lunch break each day, and sometimes extend it to 2–3 hours, to rest, recharge, and simply be.
-
To nurture my body, I invest in facials and myofascial release therapy into my self-care practice every month. (It’s such a treat to receive bodywork, especially since I spend so much time providing it for others.)
-
To protect my energy, I have limited how far I travel so I am not drained by long drives between appointments.
-
I start my mornings at a slower pace, grounding myself with a hearty breakfast, sitting by the window while embracing the fresh air, and quiet reading or journaling.
-
I engage my clients with deeper questions to understand them not just as clients, but as individuals.
Craft a life that feels good on the inside, that also aligns with your values. You activate your highest self when you lean into that energy. 😊
Questions:
💬 How might you nurture your feminine energy today?
💬 What do you need to unblock or let go to start receiving?
💬 What is one belief about yourself that you are done carrying?
Thank you so much for reading 💛 This idea of feminine energy really spoke to me early 2025 as I saw how tired, burned out, and overwhelmed most women are in today's society. Embracing my feminine potency has completely transformed the way I live. I hope it transforms you in a way that supports the person you are becoming.
P.S. Another reflection I had...Real attraction comes when we are in our being and grounded in our own beauty. Stop trying to chase the next thing, broadcast your resume, or "try so hard" to be wanted or liked. Embrace your God-given warmth and contented energy.
